Digital Color Concepts, Inc. (“DCC” or “the Company”) is a manufacturer of folding carton packaging and a leading provider of premium commercial print services. Founded in 1987 and based in New Jersey and New York, the Company offers fully integrated services including prepress, high-quality offset & digital printing, large format signage, die-cutting and converting, bindery, warehousing, fulfillment, and pick and pack with drop shipping services. The Company’s customer base is comprised of leading companies in fashion, retail, luxury brands, pharmaceutical, food and beverage and other end markets. DCC was at an important inflection point in its growth, driven by increasing demand in its folding carton packaging business, when its founder owners Stephen Pandolfi and Don Terwilliger engaged Silvergrove Advisors to identify a strategic or financial partner. A competitive process resulted in multiple attractive offers from larger competitors in the industry and private equity investors. Don and Steve decided to execute a transaction with Sherburne Partners, a private investment firm based in New York City that invests in and builds founder and family-owned companies in fragmented industrial and business services industries. The transaction with Sherburne allowed Don and Steve to achieve a meaningful liquidity event while retaining significant ownership and continuing to manage day-to-day operations. The transaction also achieved Don’s and Steve’s important objectives of retaining all of DCC’s employees and its brand identity in the industry.
