Control Group was approached by Winpak Ltd. (TSX:WPK), a large public company based in Winnipeg, Canada, regarding a potential transaction. With 12 plants in Canada, the United States and Mexico occupying more than 2.2 million square feet of production space and employing nearly 2,500 people, Winpak is a leading manufacturer and distributor of high-quality packaging materials and related packaging machines for perishable foods, beverages and healthcare applications. Silvergrove was engaged as exclusive financial advisor to Control Group and its shareholders to manage all aspects of negotiations and due diligence with Winpak. The process resulted in a successful transaction and outcome for Control Group and its shareholders, and provided Winpak a unique and differentiated platform for expanding its presence in the healthcare market in the U.S.
