Founded by Mayur and Divya Desai in 2004, Bioactive Resources is a leading provider of conventional and organic, kosher certified fruit and vegetable powders, ingredients and proprietary blends to the nutraceutical and functional food and beverage industries for a wide range of health and wellness products including powder drink mixes and fruit and vegetable capsules. Its affiliates Safe Sterilization USA and SSUSA West, founded by the Desai’s in 2009 and 2016, respectively, provide sterilization services for pathogen reduction in organic and other bulk food ingredients through an all-natural, steam-based process free from radiation or chemical interventions. The companies have operations in South Plainfield, NJ and Reno, NV. Following nearly twenty years of founder ownership, the Desai’s engaged Silvergrove to begin exploring strategic alternatives to fund accelerated growth driven by major health and wellness and food safety trends. The process resulted in a recapitalization by a group of private investors led by Peepal Tree Capital and Pratham Naik, an executive with significant experience scaling companies through both organic and acquisitive growth. Mr. Naik assumed the role of CEO responsible for the day-to-day management, while the Desai’s retained significant ownership and senior management roles focused on sales and strategy. All three businesses now operate as divisions under one corporate name, Bioactive Services.
